Making Your Flavours With What You Got Man
Your stuff on YouTube?
Yes I'm Canadian. I have a bit of everything playing. Nothing wrong with mixing different eras and types of music. MyStrands.TV is great if you're a video producer/editor or music historian.
Who wants to always watch MTV or Much Music, right ! You can watch videos from many sources provided by YouTube, MusicBox Beta. You'll even find amateurs doing covers or playing over top of a song. There are also a fair number of video/picture tributes and interviews to watch, as well. Get your ballsy stuff on your MyStrands channel.
Bad Tags or Bad Bugs
The tags should look at artist and song. There absolutely should be a filter for real artist. The fail example is Eminence Front by The Who...so it plays an Eminem song. The title said Eminem by The Who.
Yah... I know it's in beta, sure the Eminem song was good because it has "Dream On" as part of the back beat. Anyways you'll possibly unintentionally discover stuff not possible on real TV because of the tag/filter problem.
Balls To The Wall Man
I think there will be a MusicBox Beta button to insert videos into your journal entries.
Whether or not there will be one, its easy enough to clean up code not necessary.
There may be a playlist feature for MyStrands.TV. I know the channel plays videos based on whats indexed in iTunes. If you make any changes to your iTunes music library you can synchronize it.
There are not too many playlists made by the community for music.. I guess you have to find ones that have the exact same songs and artists that are in your personal library. You may also like a playlist that you don't have songs for, which you can get now or later thru Amazon or Napster or some other method.
The playlist feature can be of use as you add more songs and types of music. I like the Best of One type artist playlists. You will get a list of people in the community that listen to similar music, so at that point you can look at their playlists to see if any playlists would be easy to duplicate for your own iTunes music library. I personally think more people would use their own playlists, unless they get stuck.
Possible Connection Through Music
From a Social Media aspect point of view someone can see this as an opportunity to
chat, contribute for whatever reason. Maybe a community member is checking what you are playing, and possibly listens to the short clip or the fulltrack on Napster. This person who gets in contact could ask to add a song to the list. It's sort of a collaboration on the playlist if the parties agree I would say.
Part Of A Classic Video
This video is and was ahead of it's time. The song was always a bit of a laugh. I know what the song was really about, so I'm not laughing about what the song is about.
Just goes to show you that videography, set design, lighting, editing, planning of video are important to bands that can't break past bigger acts for various reasons. This band couldn't stay together for any extended lenght of time in this line up, but this video will remain a classic in the vault man.
Maybe this is the song I was thinking about. Definitely some similarity.
